POST GRADUATE SECTION
Anundoram Booroah Academy has been offering P.G. courses in various subjects under Bodoland University on Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). An outline of each of the courses has been given below for the greater interest of our student community.
1. M.A. in English:
The course shall be of four semesters. There shall be five papers in each of the 1st and 2nd semesters whereas in 3rd semester there shall be seven papers out of which two papers are optional and the rest compulsory. In 4th semester, students shall have to appear in five compulsory papers and one optional paper. There shall not be any practical paper in the course.
2. M.A. in Education:
The course comprises of four semesters. There are five papers in each of the semesters. In 3rd semester, students shall have to appear in four compulsory papers and one optional paper.
3. M.A. in Political Science:
Like M.A. in English and M.A. in Education courses, M.A. in Political science is also of four semesters. All the semesters contain five papers each. In the 3rd and 4th semesters, out of the five papers in each semester, two papers are optional and the rest compulsory.
4. M.Sc. in Chemistry:
The course comprises of four semesters. The 1st semester contains five papers out of which one is of practical. In 2nd semester there shall be six papers out of which one is a practical paper. There shall be five theory papers and a practical paper (total six papers) in 3rd semester. The 4th semester contains three theory papers and one Project paper or Advanced Practical Paper.
5. M. Sc. in Zoology:
The duration of the course of M.Sc. in Zoology is of two Academic years i.e. four semesters. In 1st semester, there are five papers out of which one is practical paper. In second semester, there shall be six papers out of which one is practical paper. Out of six papers in 3rd semester, there is one practical paper. In 4th semester, students shall have to select one special field of study as per their choice. There shall be four papers as a whole in 4th semester out of which one is project/dissertation/advanced practical paper.
6. M.Sc. in Botany:
The duration of the course is of four semesters. In 1st semester, students shall have to study four papers out of which one is practical paper. In 2nd semester, there shall be six papers out of which one is practical paper. There are five theory papers and one practical paper in 3rd semester whereas in 4th semester there are three theory papers and one Advanced practical paper or a Project work. A Disserta tion may perhaps be submitted by the students in lieu of Advanced practical paper or Project work.
